New Library

Hello family and friends!

I am the library media specialist (librarian) at Hawthorne Elementary School in Tulsa. The library is quite large and was remodeled in the spring of 2007. Let me know what you think!

Love to all,

Kim

New Library

This wall of windows looks out onto the school garden - it has bird baths, benches and pretty bushes. You can see the dinosaur "story" rug and walls of bookshelves. The elephant is a display shelf, and there is also a crocodile over by the far shelves that you can't see.

These are the computers in the library. The tables in the front of the picture are where classes are taught for the older kids.

Outside of Angel Fire, we went to the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial. It was quite moving. We also went on a 7 mile hike on Clear Creek trail. It was a 650 ft. gain up a nice trail - except for some rocks. The trail was bordered by Clear Creek and lots of pretty wildflowers.

This is our campsite right next to the Red River. You can see Lauren with the umbrella in the other picture. It rained on us while we cooked hot dogs over the fire. Later that night, a bear came into the campsite next to us (about 10 feet from my tent). He tore up the other campers' stuff and ate some of their food. I heard the "wuffing" sound and crashing in the middle of the night - wow was that exciting!

This is the San Francisco de Asis church in Rancho de Taos. It is a famous church, and has been depicted in many paintings by Georgia O'Keefe and others. The inside was beautiful, and it is still being used on a daily basis!

Here's a view of Taos Ski Valley village from above.

We are going up the lift at Taos Ski Valley to hike down! Here's me on the lift.

This is the Rio Grande River Gorge. It runs a very long way through New Mexico. This is the river we did our rafting on. I took this picture from the top of the bridge!

This is our campground at Hyde State Park in the mountains above Santa Fe. We had little ground squirrels and some very loud crows woke me up at 6:10 AM!!

Here is the square in Santa Fe, along with the St. Francis of Assisi church off the square. I bought some pretty earrings here.

These are sights from the trail up, down, and on top of the Chimney Rock. Quite a view!

Hello Friends and Family!

Here I am at the top of the Chimney Rock Trail outside the Ghost Ranch north of Santa Fe. The hike was 3 miles long!
